- Cocaine was intercepted by the Border Services Agency of Canada (CBSA) in three parcels from Peru, Monday, June 4, 2012. The powder had been concealed in dinosaur costumes nice yellow with red spots for children.
Cocaine was found inside mascot costumes in Montreal that were sent from Peru, Canadian border officials say.
An X-ray at a Montreal mail processing centre determined there were hidden “masses” within a parcel, and once it was opened, a white powder was discovered, the Canada Border Services Agency said.
CBSA seized 7.5 kg of cocaine and has since turned the drugs over to the RCMP. The cocaine has an estimated value of $300,000, the CBSA said in a release Monday.
The release didn’t say when the parcel was intercepted at the Montreal centre.
